There's Alham wood farm buffalo cheeses, pastrami and pies, Ocean Wave fishmongers, Marco Polo Deli with stuffed chillies and olives, marinated ginger, dolmades... There's also 'Body by Nature' - a company who sell hand made lotions and potions for your health and beauty and a good makeup stall as well as fashion, shoes and bags. Over the other side you can find superb 'Portobello Rd' traders with antiques, curiosities and beautiful things for your home and kitchen. Silver plate, carved wood and stone, glass and pottery can all be found. There's also jewellery, pictures, D.V.Ds, vinyl and CDs, and the best book stall in North London with a superb range of books at reasonable prices.

Camden Market

Once a hubbub of cutting edge youth culture, Camden draws a more mixed crowd these days, attracted by its reputation for ethnic arts, crafts, jewellery, and second-hand clothing. The original Camden Lock market next to the Grand Union Canal has three open yards surrounding the Victorian Market Hall. Here you'll find vintage clothing, Middle Eastern textiles, hand-carved sculptures and Indian jewellery. There are also plenty of food stalls, selling snacks like falafel, Thai noodles, crepes and freshly squeezed fruit juices. For more exclusive items, including antiques and handmade one-offs, head indoors to the market hall. Or for cheap and cheerful clothing and bric-a-brac, nip next door to The Stables market, under the railway arches.

Camden Passage

This series of market stalls are the centre of a vibrant local antiques trade. The 'passage' is a covered walkway stretching from the Angel up to Islington Green selling antiques and bric-a-brac in good measure. Pierrepont Row is especially good for silverware, jewellery and watches, and at Charlton Place, opposite Islington Green, there's a book fair on Thursdays and a large collection of stalls selling anything and everything all week round. The Georgian Village indoor market specialises in art, ornaments and antique fabrics and textiles.
